New Stops Coming to Our Ballina to Galway Service: Welcome Breaffy & Straide!

We're delighted to announce the addition of Breaffy and Straide to our Ballina to Galway service, making it even easier for people across County Mayo to connect with Galway, Ballina and destinations beyond.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving regional connectivity, these new stops will provide residents, students, commuters and visitors with direct access to Citylink's extensive network. Whether you're travelling to work, college, appointments or simply visiting family and friends, we're making it easier to get where you need to go.

Breaffy will be added to the service from Monday, 7th September, while Straide will join the route from Monday, 7th December 2026, subject to the completion of road improvement works in the area.

Commenting on the expansion, Sarah Comer, Regional General Manager for Irish Citylink, said:

"We're delighted to introduce our new stops in Breaffy and Straide and strengthen connections for communities across Mayo. Whether it's commuting to work, travelling to college, attending appointments or catching up with family and friends, we're committed to making travel more convenient and accessible. We look forward to welcoming even more people from Mayo on board."

We're also pleased to share a small timetable update based on customer feedback. Our later Ballina to Galway departures have been adjusted, with the 17:30 service now departing at 18:00, and the 19:30 service now departing at 20:00, offering passengers greater flexibility for evening travel.

As students prepare to return for the new academic year, we look forward to welcoming them back on board. Don't forget to apply for your Young Adult Card to avail of discounted fares, and be sure to book your tickets in advance to secure your preferred travel times during busy periods.

We'd also like to thank the National Transport Authority (NTA) for its continued support and collaboration in helping us deliver this service improvement for communities across Mayo.
