EU Presidency Events [05/07/26-09/07/26] & National Heritage Day [15/07/2026]Updated: 30/06/2026

Fógra do Chustaiméirí | Notice for Passengers

Due to the EU Presidency events taking place in Ballina between 05/07/26-09/07/26 (inclusive), some delays to services may occur, especially driving in and out of Ballina. It is expected there will be increased traffic and heavy security presence around the town.

Separately, the National Heritage Day is taking place in Ballina on Wednesday 15/07/26. It is expected that the event will draw large crowds and potential heavy traffic throughout the day around the town.

While neither of these events are expected to cause major disruptions and we don't expect any stop access issues, passengers are nevertheless highly recommended to allow for additional journey time throughout, across the whole route, especially when making a connection or attending any type of appointment (eg. hospital appointment).
