Service & Weather Updates- Friday 21/02
Statements from AA Roadwatch:

Service Update 1300 hrs:
"There’s very busy traffic in Galway City, but the outbound lane of the Wellpark Rd has now reopened at Moneenageisha after emergency repairs.

It’s very busy heading towards Moneenageisha on the Lough Atalia Rd and College Rd outbound and the Wellpark Rd inbound. There are also delays heading east from Quincentenary Bridge right across the city to the Dublin Rd.

Nearby, the Tuam Rd route has delays both ways: outbound from Eyre Square to Bóthar na dTreabh, and inbound from Castlegar through to Mervue Business Park.

It’s busy from Bóthar na dTreabh onto the Headford Rd, which us busy both ways between there and Woodquay."

Weather Update:
"Two Status Yellow weather warnings are now in place until 3 am tomorrow (22nd): a Rainfall Warning for Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim and Mayo, and a Wind Warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo.

Further heavy rain may lead to localised flooding. On wet roads, slow down and allow more room to brake. Watch out for spot flooding and only drive through standing water if you know it’s not too deep for your vehicle.

In the area covered by the wind warning, watch out for wind blown debris and be mindful of others who may be blown off-course, especially pedestrians, cyclists and high-sided vehicles"

Take care out there and please be patient with us on this windy Friday!
