Irish Citylink reduces frequency of Coach services between Galway City and Shannon Airport.
Effective from Monday, 22 Feb 10, Irish Citylink will reduce their departures to 6 services daily. Passenger numbers through Shannon Airport have dropped significantly (12%) in the last 12 months and with further declines expected it is no longer viable for Citylink to continue operating additional frequency.

Closure of Cork Call Centre from 1st February 2010
This move follows the introduction of our newly designed website in Oct 09 which provides a more efficient and effective reservation system benefiting passenger bookings. As a result, there has been a sharp decline in demand for our call centre services in Cork and it is no longer cost effective to operate this facility. Our new improved, user friendly website allows customers to book on-line 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, providing updates on all services on a regular basis and will continue to be developed and improved to ensure the highest level of Customer service is maintained. Our Customers can still make enquiries through Citylink’s website

Citylink’s New Non-Stop Service Between Galway and Dublin Offers Cheapest Ever Fares
Citylink, the provider of express coach travel throughout Ireland, has launched arguably the lowest ever single ticket fare, on its new ‘Non-Stop’ service, between Galway and Dublin.
The new ‘Non-Stop’ service between the two cities, introduced on Thursday 1st October, and the new ‘Super Singles’ ticket, now allow Citylink passengers to travel the 217KM journey for a staggering 1 Euro, eclipsing their previously lowest price of 5 Euros.
The ‘Super Singles’ ticket is available 7 days a week but must be bought, in advance, through Citylink’s on-line sales reservation service.
Tickets will be made available in limited numbers, so it’s essential that travellers book their tickets early in order to secure themselves the most affordable travel ticket Ireland has ever seen.
Cathy Cullen, Managing Director of Citylink said:
“Our new, direct, ‘Non-Stop’ service will give passengers the opportunity to travel on board Citylink’s brand new, luxury fleet of coaches. These vehicles will not only continue to ensure a safe and comfortable environment, but will also provide WC facilities and wi-fi access for all our passengers. Whether you’re a commuter or a tourist, Citylink is giving travellers the chance to enjoy the most luxurious and affordable passenger transport yet.”
And that’s not all. Thanks to the Governments continued investment in the national motorway programme the journey between Galway, the fastest growing city in the Republic of Ireland, and Dublin can now be made in 2 hours 45 minutes, saving passengers an extra half an hour and allowing them plenty of time to enjoy the delights of both cities.
When the motorway network is fully completed travelling time will be reduced further, to as little as 2 hours, helping to improve the lives of all those who travel across the country. And with 28 journeys a day, on Citylinks brand new ‘Non-Stop’ service, passengers will be spoilt for choice on when to travel.
So now there’s no excuse for not choosing public transport. And by leaving the car at home travellers will be helping to reduce harmful C02 emissions.
