It still only November but on the 20th of this month it will really start to feel like Christmas in Galway as the Continental Christmas market returns for its sixth consecutive year. Last year over 400,000 people visited the market which supported more than 50 different wooden chalets making for a memorable three weeks in Galway last year.
Last year the Christmas market brought a great atmosphere to Galway as many people described it as “really making it feel like Christmas”.The market itself has become something of a tradition and has marked the beginning of Christmas in Galway.
When passing through the market there was not a day which did not feature smiling faces from both workers and visitors to the vicinity. From the various smells of the tempting food stalls to the traditional wooden Christmas products everything was in place to put a smile upon your face.
This year however the market will not be confined to Eyre Square as organisers look to spread the market throughout the city, no doubt spreading the cheer and atmosphere across the city. The market will be officially opened on November 20th in Eyre Square with the full details being disclosed on November 13th.
